Regular Season Round 26: Akita NH - Chiba Jets 65-85

The game in Akita supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Chiba Jets (21-5) played at the court of 5th ranked Akita Happinets (10-16). Chiba Jets did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-65 on Sunday. Chiba Jets forced 19 Akita Happinets turnovers. Akita Happinets were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) produced a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba Jets have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Tochigi Brex lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Newly promoted Akita Happinets dropped to the fourth place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
