A very close game took place in Jiangsu between Monkey Kings and Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Fifteenth ranked Monkey Kings (8-15) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (16-6). Monkey Kings managed to escape with a 3-point win 106-103 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Joseph Young (188-92, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 8 assists and the other American import center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) who added 22 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Monkey Kings' coach Gintaras Krapikas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Taiwanese forward Cheng Liu (192-90) with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas) produced a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. Monkey Kings moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Zhejiang Ch. Loser Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Monkey Kings will meet Eagles (#17) in the next round. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play against Sturgeons (#8) and hope to secure a win.
