There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Valmontone (3-8) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Pozzuoli (4-9) 71-64 on Sunday. The former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (189-82) fired 24 points for the winners. Ernesto Carrichiello (196-84) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. The former international power forward Luca Bisconti (208-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) added 24 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) respectively for lost side. Pozzuoli moved-up to twelfth place in B, which they share with Olginate and Reggio Emilia. Loser Valmontone dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Pozzuoli will face higher ranked Capo d'Orlando (#11) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valmontone will play against Catania Alfa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
