There was no surprise when 6th ranked Yokohama BC (6-20) was crushed at home by third ranked Toyota Alvark (17-9) 89-68 on Sunday. Toyota Alvark made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Yokohama BC's players. The best player for the winners was international Yudai Baba (193-95) who scored 21 points and 5 assists. American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward Alex Stepheson (208-87, college: USC) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Masashi Hosoya (173-89) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 17-9 record having just one point less than leader Tochigi Brex. Yokohama BC lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 20 games lost. Toyota Alvark's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Hitachi Sunrockers.
