Regular Season Round 19: Saitama Bron. - Tokyo Cinq R. 87-70

The game between third ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (11-13) and fourth ranked Saitama Broncos (12-12) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Tokyo Cinq R. was defeated by Saitama Broncos in Saitama 70-87. Saitama Broncos made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Tanaka Yotaku (183-90) contributed with 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Senegalese Bira Seck (204-90, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and American center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) added 18 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Cinq R.Saitama Broncos moved-up to third place. Tokyo Cinq R. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. Saitama Broncos are looking forward to face Toyoda Gosei (#8) in Aichi in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Big Blue.
