Regular Season Round 26: Aomori Watts - Fukushima 81-96

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Fukushima's (12-14) road victory over 6th ranked Aomori Watts (6-20) 96-81 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Fukushima especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Aomori Watts were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Fukushima's coach Tomohiro Moriyama used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Cullen Russo (206-94, college: Fresno St.) produced 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Taichi Sano (177-93) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Fukushima moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Yamagata. Aomori Watts lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 20 games lost. Fukushima will face Bambitious Nara (#5) on the road in the next round.
