Very expected game in Urumqi where 16th ranked Eagles (6-17) were rolled over by sixth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (15-7) 132-106 on Sunday. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 35-of-41 free shots (85.4 percent) during the game, while Eagles only scored seventeen points from the stripe. They outrebounded Eagles 46-33 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Eagles were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: IPZ) who scored 40 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 19 for 19 at the free throw line !!!). International Abudushalamu Abudurexiti (203-96) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) who recorded 38 points (!!!) and 5 assists and his fellow American import power forward Dakari Johnson (213-95, college: Kentucky) added 19 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 15-7 record. Loser Eagles dropped to the seventeenth place with 17 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Jiangsu Dragons (#10) in Nanjing in the next round. Eagles will play at home against Monkey Kings (#14) and hope to win that game.
