Regular Season Round 14: Limburg - Windmills 74-82

Date: December 23, 2018
There was no surprise when 10th ranked Weert (2-13) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Dutch Windmills (8-6) 82-74 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-17. But Weert won third quarter 23-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Weert outrebounded Dutch Windmills 40-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Shavon Coleman (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Court Side) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Bennett Koch (208-95, college: N.Iowa) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. American center Tony Washington (208, college: La Salle) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 22 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian guard Ivan Simic (185-97, college: NW Kansas Tech) scored 26 points. Four Weert players scored in double figures. Weert's coach Radenko Varagic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Dutch Windmills maintains fifth position with 8-6 record. Loser Weert stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Dutch Windmills will meet at home higher ranked Den Bosch (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Weert will have a break next round.
