An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Shenzhen. First ranked Guandong Tigers faced 4th ranked Leopards. Guests from Dongguan (20-3) defeated host Leopards (17-6) 102-87. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leopards. Guandong Tigers made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Leopards 58-40 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international power forward JunFei Ren (203-90) who scored 30 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Zijie Shen (205-97) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) added 12 points, 7 assists and 7 steals respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-3 record. Leopards at the other side dropped to the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Beijing Ducks. Guandong Tigers are looking forward to face Beijing Ducks (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
