Regular Season Round 11: Perth - Sydney 88-84

Date: December 23, 2018
Very predictable result when third ranked Perth Lynx (10-5) won against at home bottom-ranked Sydney Uni Flames (2-14) 88-84 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Perth Lynx forced 20 Sydney Uni Flames turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Her fellow American import swingman Alison Schwagmeyer (177-90, college: Quincy) accounted for 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Perth Lynx players scored in double figures. The former international Belinda Snell (180-81) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Tahlia Tupaea (174-97) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Sydney Uni Flames in the defeat. Sydney Uni Flames' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Perth Lynx moved-up to second place, which they share with UC Capitals. Loser Sydney Uni Flames stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Perth Lynx will meet Adelaide Lightning (#4) on the road in the next round. Sydney Uni Flames will play against Townsville Fire (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
