Regular Season Round 10: Gorizont - RGUOR 96-51

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Minsk: Gorizont (#3) and RGUOR (#8). Gorizont (9-2) smashed visiting RGUOR (0-10) by 45 points 96-51. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to RGUOR's 34. They outrebounded RGUOR 41-28 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gorizont players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by RGUOR's players. International center Hanna Brych (187-97) notched 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Maryia Trafimenkava (167-2) supported her with 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 6 rebounds by Vladislava Kushner (-3) did not help to save the game for RGUOR. Karolina Sedach (-3) added 13 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gorizont have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-2 record having four points less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk. Newly promoted RGUOR still closes the standings with ten games lost. Gorizont will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. RGUOR will play at home against Gomel-Sozh (#7) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
