An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Beijing. First ranked Guandong Tigers faced 3rd placed Beijing Ducks. Guests from Dongguan (21-3) defeated host Beijing Ducks (17-7) 96-87. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Beijing Ducks' 42. They outrebounded Beijing Ducks 46-32 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. International power forward JunFei Ren (203-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian-American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Xiaochuan Zhai (205-93) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers have an impressive series of eighteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-3 record. Beijing Ducks at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Guandong Tigers are looking forward to face Fly Dragons (#18) in Beijing in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Beijing Ducks will have a break next round.
