Regular Season Round 11: United - 36ers 101-103

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked United (11-6) in Melbourne on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Adelaide 36ers (9-8) 103-101. Adelaide 36ers made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by United helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Jacob Wiley (203-94, college: E.Washington) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) responded with 26 points and 5 assists and forward DJ Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Adelaide 36ers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bullets. United lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the third position with six games lost. Adelaide 36ers is looking forward to face New Zealand Breakers (#7) in Auckland in the next round. United will play on the road against Bullets (#4) in Brisbane and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
