Regular Season Round 27: Toyota Alvark - Hitachi SR 77-74

Fourth-ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (12-15) were very close to win a game against third ranked Toyota Alvark (18-9) in Tokyo. Toyota Alvark managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. Toyota Alvark players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. Montenegrin-Serbian power forward Milko Bjelica (207-84, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) with 26 points and 8 rebounds and American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyota Alvark have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 18-9 record having just one point less than leader Tochigi Brex. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Toyota Alvark will play against Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play at home against Fukuoka Rizing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
