Regular Season Round 28: Hokkaido L. - Chiba Jets 76-83

There was no surprise in Saporro where 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (7-21) was defeated by second ranked Chiba Jets (23-5) 83-76 on Thursday. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) who added 22 points and 6 assists during the contest. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side British-American center Byron Mullens (213-89, college: Ohio St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks and Spanish center David Doblas (206-81) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Chiba Jets have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tochigi Brex. Loser Hokkaido L. dropped to the fifth place with 21 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Kyoto Hannar. (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hokkaido L. will play against Toyota Alvark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
