Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Wetterbygden (7-12) was defeated on the road by third ranked BC Lulea (13-6) 88-83 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-22. But Wetterbygden won second period 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BC Lulea won last quarter 27-23. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. BC Lulea had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BC Lulea made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Corban Collins (190-94, college: Alabama) who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Denzel Andersson (203-96) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American CJ Dunston (196-94, college: Lancaster Bible) who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jonathan Peleg (191-94) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Wetterbygden players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BC Lulea have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-6 record having just three points less than leader Sodertalje. Wetterbygden lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. BC Lulea will meet Koping Stars (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Wetterbygden will play against KFUM Jamtland and hope to secure a win.
