Regular Season Round 12: Lulea Basket - Wetterbygden 86-65

Very expected game when 8th ranked Wetterbygden (3-6) was crushed on the road by top-ranked Lulea Basket (8-0) 86-65 on Thursday. Lulea Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Wetterbygden's 20. Lulea Basket had a 31-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Michaela Houser (170-91, college: Purdue) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Lulea Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Sofia Hagg (169-97) who recorded 11 points and 5 assists and guard Cajsa Uhrstrom (180-99) added 16 points respectively. Lulea Basket have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 8-0 record behind leader A3 Basket. Wetterbygden lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Lulea Basket will meet at home league's second-placed Alvik Basket in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wetterbygden will play against Visby Ladies (#11) and hope to secure a win.
