Regular Season Round 28: Kawasaki BT - SeaHorses 98-106

The most important game in the last round took place in Kanagawa between third ranked Toshiba Thunders (17-12) and fourth ranked Aishin Sea Horses (14-15) on Friday night. Toshiba Thunders were defeated by Aishin Sea Horses in a tough game at home 98-106. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. Aishin Sea Horses made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 71.4 percentage. Aishin Sea Horses looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward James Southerland (203-90, college: Syracuse) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and the former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) who added 25 points during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and international point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) scored 29 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Five Aishin Sea Horses and four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses maintains fourth position with 14-15 record. Toshiba Thunders at the other side dropped to the second place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
