Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Caceres Basket (4-12) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Melilla Baloncesto (9-6) 71-60 on Friday. Melilla Baloncesto made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Melilla Baloncesto outrebounded Caceres Basket 38-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89, agency: PEPI SPORT) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Josep Franch (193-91) helped adding 9 points. The best for the losing side was guard Luis Parejo (194-89) with 8 points and 7 rebounds and Polish-American guard Andy Mazurczak (188-94, college: Wisc.-Parkside) scored 11 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Melilla Baloncesto moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Forca Lleida and Oviedo. Loser Caceres Basket dropped to the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. Melilla Baloncesto will face league's second-placed Palencia Baloncesto at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caceres Basket will play against CB Granada (#8) and hope to win that game.
