There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Bondi Ferrara (5-9) was outscored at home by twelfth ranked Roseto Sharks (5-9) 89-59 on Friday. Roseto Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bondi Ferrara's 24. Naturalized DR Congolese forward Nicola Akele (203-95, college: Rhode Island) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-92, college: Yale) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Roseto Sharks players scored in double figures. Roseto Sharks' coach Germano D'Arcangeli felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) replied with 27 points and American-Irish forward Mike Hall (203-84, college: G.Washington) added 5 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Bondi Ferrara. Roseto Sharks moved-up to ninth place in A2. Roseto Sharks will face league's leader Consultinvest BO in Bologna in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bondi Ferrara will play on the road against Orasi RAV (#7) in Ravenna and hope to win that game.
