Regular Season Round 24: Capitanes - Huracanes 102-81

LNBP top team - Capitanes (15-8) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Huracanes (3-21) in Mexico 102-81. Capitanes shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Huracanes' players. Worth to mention a quality performance of Dominican guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-92) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds and Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91) who added 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Capitanes' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Capitanes have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-8 record. Huracanes lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh place with 21 games lost. Capitanes will face again Huracanes (#7) in Tampico in the next round where they are favorite.
