Regular Season Round 12: Visby - Mark 60-77

Mark has finally registered their first victory this season after eight consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Visby, where they defeated Visby Ladies (0-9) 77-60. It looked good early as Visby Ladies took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mark had a 26-11 second period charge getting the lead and Visby Ladies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-77. They outrebounded Visby Ladies 41-28 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Canadian guard Paloma Anderson (155, college: Acadia) who scored that evening 28 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Chase Coley (190, college: Iowa) supported her with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Even 15 points and 9 rebounds by forward Veronika Mirkovic (185-95, college: Colorado St.) did not help to save the game for Visby Ladies. American guard Branndais Agee (180-94, college: Michigan St.) added 15 points. Mark maintains ninth position with 1-8 record. It was Visby Ladies' eighth loss in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Mark will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Visby Ladies will play against Wetterbygden (#8) and hope to get finally their first victory.
