Ninth-ranked Swordfish (13-13) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Beijing Great Wall (20-6) in Shanghai. The visitors from Beijing managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected much easier game. American center Morgan Tuck (188-94, college: Connecticut) notched 28 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and international Ting Shao (183-89) supported her with 25 points. Four Beijing Great Wall players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 37 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists by Montenegrin center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Swordfish. Center Zhiting Zhang (196) added 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Beijing Great Wall have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Jiangsu and Xinjiang. Swordfish at the other side keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Sichuan. Beijing Great Wall will play against Jiangsu Phoenix (#3) in Nanjing in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Swordfish will play against Tianjin (#17) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
