The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Killester as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Killester defeated 6th ranked Swords Thunder in Dublin 79-63. Killester forced 20 Swords Thunder turnovers. It was a good game for Spanish center Luis Garcia-Hoyos (203-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. American guard Royce Williams (196, college: Ft.Hays State) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Killester's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Isaac Westbrooks (189-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals and British center Oisin Kerlin (206-96, college: High School) added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Swords Thunder. Four Killester and five Swords Thunder players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Swords Thunder at the other side dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. Swords Thunder will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Killester will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Belfast Star on the road.
