Regular Season Round 11: Kymis - Aris 75-57
Date: December 29, 2018
Bottom-ranked Kymis managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of nine consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they won against twelfth-ranked Aris 75-57. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference suggests that Kymis is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 29-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kymis made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Aris helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. Point guard JeQuan Lewis (185-94, college: VCU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 assists. Power forward Chris Horton (203-94, college: Austin Peay St.) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Kymis players scored in double figures. Forward Ramon Harris (201-88, college: Kentucky) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and center Gary McGhee (209-88, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) added 4 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Aris. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kymis (2-9) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Aris and Cretan Kings. Aris lost fifth consecutive game. Kymis is looking forward to face higher ranked Lavrio (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aris will play against Ifestos and is hoping to win this game.
