Regular Season Round 27: Ehime OV - Tokyo HT 114-78

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Orange Vikings (11-17) crushed 6th ranked Tokyo HT (3-25) in Matsuyama 114-78 on Saturday. Orange Vikings dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo HT's 44. They outrebounded Tokyo HT 48-22 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Orange Vikings looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Lakeem Jackson (195-90, college: S.Carolina, agency: SDJ Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. Orange Vikings' coach Richard Glesmann felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles, agency: Slash Sports) answered with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 blocks and guard Hiroya Ogane (180-89) added 21 points and 6 assists in the effort for Tokyo HT. The victory was the third consecutive win for Orange Vikings. They maintain fourth place with 11-17 record. Tokyo HT lost their eleventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 25 games lost. Orange Vikings will face again Tokyo HT (#6) at home in the next round.
