Regular Season Round 21: Toyoda Gosei - Saitama Bron. 93-84

The game between third ranked Saitama Broncos (7-7) and seventh ranked Toyoda Gosei (10-4) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Saitama Broncos were defeated by Toyoda Gosei in a tough game in Aichi 84-93. Toyoda Gosei looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Irish Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) chipped in 7 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and Masaya Ueda (177-93) added 23 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyoda Gosei have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Aisin AW and Koshigaya A. Saitama Broncos lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Toyoda Gosei is looking forward to face Tokyo Big Blue (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saitama Broncos will play against the league's leader Tokyo Excel. (#1) and are hoping to win this game.
