Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Akita Happinets and 5th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix had identical 10-18 record. This time Akita Happinets used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Hamamatsu 73-59 on Sunday night. Akita Happinets outrebounded San-en NeoPhoenix 38-24 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Point guard Shinnosuke Ohishi (174-87) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and American forward William McDonald (206-79, college: Grambling St.) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. San-en NeoPhoenix's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Akita Happinets maintains fifth place with 11-18 record which they share with defeated San-en NeoPhoenix. Loser San-en NeoPhoenix keeps the fifth position with 19 games lost. Akita Happinets will have a break next round. San-en NeoPhoenix will play on the road against Fukuoka Rizing (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
