Regular Season Round 28: Hiroshima D. - Aomori Watts 93-71

There was no surprise in Hiroshima where 6th ranked Aomori Watts (6-22) were outplayed by second ranked Dragonflies (20-8) 93-71 on Sunday. Dragonflies outrebounded Aomori Watts 49-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and the former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) who added 23 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Cullen Russo (206-94, college: Fresno St.) responded with a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and Lithuanian power forward Julius Jucikas (205-89, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dragonflies keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gunma. Aomori Watts lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 22 games lost. Dragonflies will face Kagawa FA (#6) in Takamatsu in the next round where they are favorite. Aomori Watts will play on the road against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
