The most exciting game of round 19 in the Korisliiga took place in Joensuu. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Helsinki Seagulls (7-9) to eighth ranked Joensuun Kataja (7-6) 83-81 in the game for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Helsinki Seagulls. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 24-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Canadian-Jamaican guard Daniel Mullings (189-91, college: N.Mexico St.) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Tommi Huolila (198-93) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Joensuun Kataja's coach Juha Sten used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Juwan Staten (185-92, college: W.Virginia) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Five Joensuun Kataja and four Helsinki Seagulls players scored in double figures. Joensuun Kataja moved-up to seventh place. Helsinki Seagulls at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Joensuun Kataja is again looking forward to face Helsinki Seagulls (#8) on the road in the next round. Helsinki Seagulls will have a break next round.
