Regular Season Round 11: Al-Ittihad - Isa Town 87-60

Very expected game when 9th ranked Isa Town (3-7) was smashed by fifth ranked Al-Ittihad (5-4) in Manama 87-60 on Sunday. Al-Ittihad dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Isa Town's 28. They outrebounded Isa Town 51-24 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 27 rebounds. Ali Helal accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Five Al-Ittihad players scored in double figures. Tunisian Ahmed Salman came up with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Mansoor Jaber added 20 points respectively for Isa Town in the defeat. Al-Ittihad maintains fifth place with 5-4 record. Loser Isa Town dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Al-Ittihad will meet at home higher ranked Al-Riffa (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Isa Town will have a break next round.
