Regular Season Round 12: MKS DG - Legia 74-80

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked Legia (7-5) won against on the road 7th ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (7-7) 80-74 on Sunday. Legia made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by point guard Sebastian Kowalczyk (188-93) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American swingman Omar Prewitt (201-94, college: William & Mary) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Legia's coach Tane Spasev used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by international forward Mathieu Wojciechowski (203-92) did not help to save the game for MKS Dabrowa Gornicza. American guard Ben Richardson (190-96, college: Loyola, IL) added 12 points and 6 assists. Four Legia and five MKS Dabrowa Gornicza players scored in double figures. Legia moved-up to seventh place. Loser MKS Dabrowa Gornicza dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Legia will meet at home league's leader Stelmet Enea BC in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will play against Miasto Szkla (#15) in Krosno and hope to secure a win.
