Regular Season Round 29: Chiba Jets - Kyoto Hannar. 87-84

Third-ranked Kyoto Hannar. (15-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked Chiba Jets (24-5). Chiba Jets managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected easier game. Chiba Jets players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Shaquille Morris (203-94, college: Wichita St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Tatsuya Ito (173-94) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists in the effort for Kyoto Hannar.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chiba Jets have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Tochigi Brex lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Kyoto Hannar. lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with 14 games lost. Chiba Jets will play against Shiga L-Stars (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kyoto Hannar. will play against the league's leader Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
