Regular Season Round 28: Hiroshima D. - Aomori Watts 84-82

Sixth-ranked Aomori Watts (6-22) gave a tough game to second ranked Dragonflies (20-8) in Hiroshima. Dragonflies managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. Aomori Watts were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Seiya Tanaka (186-91) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 39 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds by American forward Cullen Russo (206-94, college: Fresno St.) did not help to save the game for Aomori Watts. Lithuanian power forward Julius Jucikas (205-89, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Dragonflies keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gunma. Aomori Watts lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 22 games lost. Dragonflies will play against Kagawa FA (#6) in Takamatsu in the next round where they are favorite. Aomori Watts will play on the road against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
