It was an exceptional evening for American guard Terrico White (196-90, college: Mississippi) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 5 assists. International power forward Nick Kay (206-92, college: Metro St.) accounted for 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. The former international forward Lucas Walker (202-84, college: St.Mary's, CA) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Melo Trimble (190-95, college: Maryland) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for Cairns Taipans in the defeat. Four Perth Wildcats and five Cairns Taipans players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth Wildcats keep a position of league leader. Cairns Taipans lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Perth Wildcats will play against New Zealand Breakers (#7) in Auckland in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cairns Taipans will play at home against the league's second-placed Kings to get more than just one victory in their record.
