Regular Season Round 13: Spojnia - TBV Start 75-87

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Start (6-7) defeated on the road 13th ranked Spojnia Stargard (3-10) 87-75 on Thursday. They outrebounded Spojnia Stargard 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Kacper Borowski (205-94) fired 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Joe Thomasson (193-93, college: Wright St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. American point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: Oklahoma St.) produced 23 points and Lithuanian power forward Norbertas Giga (208-95, college: Jacksonville St.) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Start moved-up to ninth place, which they share with King. Spojnia Stargard lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with AZS Koszalin. Start will meet higher ranked Anwil (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spojnia Stargard will play against BM Slam Stal (#5) in Ostrow Wlkp. and hope to secure a win.
