Regular Season Round 12: H.Jerusalem - Bnei Hertzeliya 98-77

Date: January 3, 2019
The game between fourth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (8-3) and 8th ranked Bnei Hasharon (4-8) in Jerusalem on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Hapoel Jerusalem outscored guests from Hod Hasharon 98-77. Hapoel Jerusalem forced 23 Bnei Hasharon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by American forward Tashawn Thomas (203-93, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and international point guard Tamir Blatt (182-97) supported him with 15 points and 10 assists. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach David-Oded Kattache felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) by American forward Gabe Levin (201-94, college: Long Beach St.) did not help to save the game for Bnei Hasharon. His fellow American import center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) added 10 points and 9 rebounds. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 8-3 record. Bnei Hasharon lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem will meet Rishon (#8) in the next round. Bnei Hasharon will play against Ironi Nahariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
