Regular Season Round 26: Huracanes - Libertadores 65-96

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Huracanes' (3-22) home loss to sixth ranked Libertadores (9-15) in Tampico 65-96 on Friday. Libertadores dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Huracanes' 32. American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). The other American import swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) replied with 4 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) added 17 points in the effort for Huracanes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Libertadores maintains sixth position with 9-15 record. Huracanes lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh place with 22 games lost. Libertadores will have a break next round. Huracanes will play again at home against Libertadores (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
