Regular Season Round 16: Girona Basquet - Moron 66-70

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Moron (7-10) won against on the road 5th ranked Girona Basquet (10-7) 70-66 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-11. But Girona Basquet won third quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Taylor Cameron (196-91, college: Winona St.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian-Jamaican guard Kedar Wright (191-94, college: Simon Fraser, agency: Two Points) who added 9 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Jordi Trias (208-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international power forward Alfonso Alzamora (206-79) scored 11 points. Girona Basquet's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Moron maintains seventh position in Silver with 7-10 record. Newly promoted Girona Basquet keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Moron will face Menorca (#8) in Mahon in the next round. Girona Basquet will play on the road against Almansa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
