Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Sharks (16-12) and Jiangsu Dragons (12-16), which took place in Shanghai. Higher ranked Sharks were outleveled at home by thirteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons 126-106 on Friday. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 48. They outrebounded Sharks 52-31 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jiangsu Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Sharks were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Donald Sloan (190-88, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Center Quanxi Wu (210-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) answered with 23 points and point guard Tong Wang (183-82) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sharks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shandong GS and Zhejiang Ch. Sharks lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face league's second-placed Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
