There was no surprise when 10th ranked Forssan Koripojat (2-10) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Oulun NMKY (7-6) 95-84 on Friday. Forssan Koripojat was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 36-17 charge of Oulun NMKY, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Dedrick Basile (178-94, college: CSU Bakersfield) fired 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Swingman Shon Briggs (198-95, college: CSU Bakersfield) chipped in 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Briggs is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Oulun NMKY players scored in double figures. Guard Isaac Williams (195-94, college: Miss.Valley St.) produced 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and center Gilbert Talbot (208-94, college: LSU-Alexandria) added 21 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Oulun NMKY maintains sixth place in Division with 7-6 record. Loser Forssan Koripojat keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Oulun NMKY will face league's leader Lahti at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Forssan Koripojat will play against Korikouvot (#8) in Kouvola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
