Regular Season Round 12: 36ers - Breakers 96-104

Date: January 4, 2019
And finally the game worth to mention about is the one where seventh ranked New Zealand Breakers (8-9) won against one of their biggest challengers Adelaide 36ers (9-9) on the road by 8 points 104-96 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Adelaide 36ers. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 63-47 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds. American-Guamanian forward Tai Wesley (201-86, college: Utah St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming) who recorded 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Adelaide 36ers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. New Zealand Breakers moved-up to sixth place. Loser Adelaide 36ers dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. New Zealand Breakers will face league's leader Kings in Sydney in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Adelaide 36ers will play at home against Bullets (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
