There was no surprise when 8th ranked Sydney Uni Flames (2-17) were crushed on the road by fourth ranked Adelaide Lightning (11-7) 110-61 on Friday. The game without a history. Adelaide Lightning led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Adelaide Lightning outrebounded Sydney Uni Flames 46-27 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Adelaide Lightning looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international guard Nicole Seekamp (178-92, college: S.Dakota) fired 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American forward Nia Coffey (185-95, college: Northwestern, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Adelaide Lightning players scored in double figures. Adelaide Lightning's coach Chris Lucas felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Tahlia Tupaea (174-97) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Shanae Greaves (183-93) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Adelaide Lightning. They maintain fourth place with 11-7 record. Sydney Uni Flames lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Adelaide Lightning will face league's second-placed Boomers in Melbourne in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sydney Uni Flames will play at home against the league's leader Canberra Capitals (#1) and hope to win that game.
