An interesting game took place in Santander where higher ranked Estela (9-7) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Gijon (5-11) 71-62 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gijon made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Saul Blanco (196-85) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 assists and South African forward Pieter Prinsloo (208-92, college: Marist) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Newly promoted Gijon maintains eleventh position in Silver with 5-11 record. Estela at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Gijon will face league's leader Zornotza in Amorebieta-Echano in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
