Regular Season Round 20: Levice - Lucenec 98-64

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Levice (14-4) smashed at home bottom-ranked Lucenec (1-17) 98-64. Levice dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Lucenec's 28 and made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lucenec 35-20 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Levice especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Lucenec was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Levice players scored in double figures. American forward Duke Shelton (208-95, college: Tampa) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Ike Agusi (180-95, college: Queens, NC) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Lucenec. Levice have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 14-4 record having just one point less than leader Inter Bratislava. Lucenec lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 17 lost games. Levice will play against Rieker KN (#7) in Komarno in the next round where they are favorite. Lucenec will play at home against the league's leader Inter Bratislava to get more than just one victory in their record.
