Regular Season Round 8: PINKK-Pecsi - A3 Basket 42-85

Bottom-ranked Hungarian PINKK-Pecsi is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Swedish A3 Basket (5-1) 85-42 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. A3 Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding PINKK-Pecsi to just 7 points in third quarter. A3 Basket forced 20 PINKK-Pecsi turnovers and outrebounded them 51-26 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when A3 Basket made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American guard Tiffany Brown (165-86, college: Georgia South) who scored that evening 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and American-French forward Alyssa Lawrence (185-95, college: Massachusetts) supported her with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Five A3 Basket players scored in double figures. Even 8 points and 6 rebounds by center Lilla Zsilinszky (190-95) did not help to save the game for PINKK-Pecsi. Point guard Reka Szucs (169-95) added 7 points for the hosts. A3 Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Zabiny Brno and Rostov. Loser PINKK-Pecsi still closes the standings with six games lost. A3 Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. PINKK-Pecsi will play against Olimpia (#7) in Grodno and hopes to get finally their first victory.
