Regular Season Round 16: Zornotza - Aquimisa LZ 79-72

There was a change at the LEB Silver leadership position after last games. Round 16 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Zamorano (10-6). They were defeated by second ranked Zornotza (11-5) 79-72 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in Silver. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Davie Champagnie (206-90, college: Martin Methodist, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and American-Nigerian guard Randy Onwuasor (190-95, college: LSU) who added 24 points during the contest. Zornotza's coach Mikel Garitaonandia used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Christopher Iza (206-95) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Micheal Warren (196-95, college: CS Northridge) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zornotza keeps a position of Silver leader. Zamorano at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Real Murcia. Zamorano will play next round against Fontedoso Carrefour trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Zornotza will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Gijon on the road.
