Regular Season Round 8: Rostov - SBS Ostrava 86-75

Very expected game when 13th ranked Czech SBS Ostrava (1-5) lost on the road to sixth ranked Russian BC Rostov (5-1) 86-75 on Saturday. The game without a history. BC Rostov led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by forward Eleonora Oleynikova (178-98) who scored that evening 26 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Anna Zaytseva (183-99) supported her with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. BC Rostov's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 15 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists by American swingman Chelsea Waters (185, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for SBS Ostrava. Slovakian Lucia Hadacova (185-95) added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Four SBS Ostrava players scored in double figures. BC Rostov have an impressive five-game winning streak. BC Rostov moved-up to third place, which they share with Zabiny Brno and A3 Basket. Loser SBS Ostrava dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Astana Tigers. BC Rostov will meet league's second-placed Tsmoki-Minsk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SBS Ostrava will play against Astana Tigers (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
