Regular Season Round 8: Fubon Braves - Taiwan Beer 93-88

There was a change at the SBL leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Taiwan Beer (10-7). They were defeated by fourth ranked Fubon Braves (9-7) 93-88 on Saturday night. Fubon Braves forced 22 Taiwan Beer turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Taiwan Beer helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) who added 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Lithuanian swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95) responded with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fubon Braves have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 9-7 record. Taiwan Beer at the other side dropped to the third place with seven games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Yulon Luxgen. Taiwan Beer will play next round against league's leader Yulon Luxgen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Fubon Braves will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked KKL on the road.
