Regular Season Round 15: AZS UJK Kielce - Pogon RS 103-100

Eighth-ranked Pogon RS (7-8) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked AZS UJK Kielce (11-4). AZS UJK Kielce managed to secure only three-point victory 103-100. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pogon RS. AZS UJK Kielce had a 37-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Pogon RS's players. Pogon RS was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Mateusz Druszcz (184-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Michal Szwedo (200-97) helped adding 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was point guard Mateusz Pawlik (180-92) with 29 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Pawel Mol (180-87) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. AZS UJK Kielce have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with Polonia Bytom and Wisla Krakow. Pogon RS at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. AZS UJK Kielce will play against Polonia Bytom (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Pogon RS will play against MKS DG 2 (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
